The Louisiana Peach Festival originally began in 1951 as a “Peach and Posies” show that features fruits, flowers, contests, and the first crowning of the First Queen of Dixie Gem and Princess Peach, a tradition that has been upheld to this day. The festival grew throughout the years to become a massive two-week celebration with an arts and crafts show, a rodeo, and a bevy of other special events, until finally being shorted to an action-packed weekend in later years.
Today, this legendary Ruston Peach Festival draws thousands of locals and visitors looking to taste some of Louisiana’s famous peaches and to enjoy the exciting events on offer each year. Last year, the festival was home to events like the Beta Sigma Phi Arts & Crafts Show, the Miss Dixie Gem Peach and Princess Peach pageants, and the Peach Cookery.
If you're coming as a family, there is kid-friendly entertainment like the Lincoln Parish Park Kids’ Fishing Tournament and a ton of fun games and rides. Take in two nights of rodeo fun while enjoying a selection of the finest peaches in the state.
